Prerequisites

As this is a Certificate IV level qualification your level of literacy and numeracy should be at least level 4 on the Literacy indicator table

Registration

If you are interested in registering for this course either through a mine sponsorship program or as an individual, we suggest that you speak with the training department on your site. If you are currently working for a contractor, speak the training coordinator for your employer. You can register for this course by contacting CHSS

Study tips

When you take on a course of work related study such as this, it is possible that you may not have done a lot of formal study since being at school.

The amount of work required may seem daunting, but with the assistance of your training department, speaking to your trainers and mentors and keeping in regular contact with your RTO, you should not feel that you are alone in the process.

If you are completing this course with a group of people from your site, try to meet regularly to discuss where you are up to, how you think you're going and to talk about any problems you may be having. It can be difficult with different rosters, but the effort will be well worth it.

Remember to always ask questions. Ask questions of your site mentor, your trainer and your fellow workers.
